CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — Following the completion of the recount process, Republican candidate Tim McNeely has officially secured the Republican nomination for the West Virginia House of Delegates in the 71st District.

"First, I want to congratulate Harrison County Clerk John Spires and his staff for their professionalism and dedication throughout this process," McNeely said. "Every vote reported on election night was confirmed during the canvass. The citizens of Harrison County should have great confidence in our election process and in the public servants who work hard to ensure every vote is counted accurately."

McNeely expressed gratitude to voters, supporters, and his family for their confidence and encouragement throughout the campaign.

"Sarah and I are grateful, humbled, and honored by the trust that voters have placed in me," he said. "I want to thank my family for their love, encouragement, and sacrifice throughout this campaign. No one runs for office alone, and I could not have done this without them."

McNeely also thanked the many volunteers, supporters, and residents who participated in the campaign.

"I want to thank every volunteer, supporter, friend, and voter who took the time to listen, ask questions, share ideas, place a yard sign, make a phone call, say a prayer, or cast a vote," McNeely said. "I am especially thankful for the many people I met along the campaign trail. Whether we agreed on every issue or not, I appreciated every conversation. What stood out to me most was that people throughout our district care deeply about their families, their communities, and building a better future for Harrison County and West Virginia."

McNeely also extended his appreciation to fellow Republican candidate Laura Kimble.

"I want to thank Laura Kimble for her service to our community and for her willingness to put her name on the ballot," he said. "Running for office is never easy, and I appreciate her commitment to public service and to the democratic process."

Reflecting on the narrow margin of victory, McNeely emphasized the responsibility that comes with earning voters' trust.

"This was a very close election, and I recognize what that means," McNeely said. "It means there is a responsibility to listen, to learn, and to work hard every day to earn the confidence of all the people of the 71st District. Whether you supported me, supported another candidate, or simply followed the race, I want you to know that I value your voice and your perspective."

While celebrating the conclusion of the primary contest, McNeely said his focus now turns to continuing conversations with residents throughout the district.

"An important chapter of this campaign has come to a close, but the work is really just beginning," he said. "Throughout the summer, you'll continue to see me and my family across the district—attending community events, meeting with residents, listening to ideas, and learning more about the challenges and opportunities facing our communities."

McNeely said he remains optimistic about the future of Harrison County and West Virginia.

"Harrison County and West Virginia have tremendous potential," he said. "We have challenges to address and opportunities to pursue, and I believe we can accomplish great things when we work together."

"Sarah and I love this community. It is our home. We are committed to doing everything we can to help make it stronger, more prosperous, and an even better place to raise a family."

"Thank you again for your trust. I am honored beyond words, and I pledge to work hard every day to earn that trust as we continue moving our community and our state forward together."
